This project will take place in the city of Heidelberg, in cooperation with the local zoo. This international edition invites local writers from UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature to identify one animal in their local zoo and write about it.
The work can be about a personal relationship with that animal or its species, or it can relate to issues such as animal rights, nature, the human-animal connection, or the specific conditions of animals in your country.
You are free to choose your own writing style and approach.
Heidelberg will select one work from each participating city to be translated into German. These works will be presented online to a German audience when Heidelberg presents the project results.
