Is a new international comic publication developed in collaboration between the UNESCO Cities of Literature (Slemani, Lund, and Bremen) together with artists, students, and cultural institutions in Iraq, Sweden, and Germany.
The name TAKWTAK refers to rhythm, movement, and recurring signals between people. In this project, the name symbolizes many individual voices and narratives that together create a larger conversation between people, cities, and cultures.
Theme for Issue (My City)
For the first issue, artists are invited to share their stories about their city – the city where they live or where they have their roots.
The theme can include: – Daily life – Memories – Identity – Places – People and encounters

• Comic artists and illustrators
• Art and graphic design students
• Visual storytellers
Selection
One representative from each city (Slemani, Lund, Bremen) participates in the selection of artists.
Each selected artist receives €500 for their work.
