From Kurdistan to the World: Six New Global Translations for Bachtyar Ali

Bachtyar Ali, the prominent Kurdish writer and novelist, has signed several contracts for the translation and publication of six of his novels into various foreign languages.

According to a post on Bachtyar Ali’s official Facebook account:

  • His novel “The Last Pomegranate of the World” will be published in Russian in the near future.
  • The novel “Bander Feyli”, translated by Hemin Omer, is scheduled to be published in Danish this year.
  • A contract has been signed with the “Del Crater” publishing house in Barcelona to translate and publish “The Last Pomegranate of the World” in Catalan.
  • In the United States, “Archipelago Books” will publish the novel “The Conquest of Darkness” in English.
  • The novel “The Curse of the New Springs” (Nefreti Newbaharan) has been translated into German and will be published by the Swiss publishing house “Unionsverlag”.
  • Additionally, a contract has been signed with “Totem Yayınları” for the translation and publication of both “The City of the White Musicians” and “The Mansion of the Sorrowful Birds” into Turkish.
