The Galawezh Intellectual Center is a literary and cultural organization established in 1996 in the city of Slemani. In addition to organizing annual seminars, panels, and book publications, and granting honorary awards to writers and intellectuals, the center hosts the Galawezh International Festival. This event is a prominent literary and cultural festival, widely considered one of the most significant annual literary events in Kurdistan and the Middle East. Having held numerous successful editions over the years, the center continues to organize the festival as a cornerstone of the region’s intellectual life.
