Ljubljana, a UNESCO City of Literature, invites writers to apply for its 2026 residency program at the Švicarija Creative Centre. Two one-month residencies are available for foreign writers to immerse themselves in the literary landscape of the Slovenian capital.

Residency Periods:

First Residency: April 2026
Second Residency: November 2026

Eligibility:
The call is open to writers who have published at least one book (prose/fiction, poetry, or drama) and have a demonstrable connection to any of the UNESCO Cities of Literature (excluding Ljubljana and Celje).

What is Provided:

A grant of €1,250 to cover travel and living expenses.
A private, fully-equipped apartment.
Coverage of local transportation costs.
Opportunities for networking and meetings with the local literary community.
