On October 21, 2026, the Office of Slemani UNESCO Creative City of Literature virtually participated in the 2026 Wonju International Literary Forum, hosted in the Republic of Korea under the theme:
“Literature Builds Cities: Cases and the Future of UNESCO Cities of Literature.”
Organized in celebration of Korea’s Year of the Literary Book 2026, the forum brought together delegates from UNESCO Cities of Literature, writers, scholars, and cultural organizations worldwide to explore how literature shapes cities and communities.
During the sessions, several themes have been addressed, like:

• The influence of city life and urban environments on literary creativity.
• Engaging children through literature, highlighting their artistic and creative reflections on urban life.
• Fostering international exchange and sharing best practices across the UNESCO Creative Cities Network (UCCN).
We extend our warm gratitude to Wonju UNESCO City of Literature for hosting an inspiring platform dedicated to dialogue, collaboration, and the future of literary cities.
