The 5th Slemani International Film Festival officially has began in Slemani, highlighting the theme of “Kurdish Culture and the Mother Tongue.”

Over the coming days, the festival will showcase films in seven competition sections, with a total of 19 awards to be presented to both national and international filmmakers.

The Festival is designed to spotlight the Kurdish language and cultural identity through cinema, bringing together local and foreign filmmakers and audiences in a celebration of storytelling and heritage.
