Today, the third edition of (Kurdish Folktales) was completed. with the aim of introducing Kurdish Folktales as a part of our culture and heritage.It is worth mentioning here that the English translator of these Kurdish stories is Professor Wheeler Thakston, a professor in the Department of Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations (NELC) at Harvard University, USA, and an expert in Kurdish and Persian languages. He also provided an introduction to the stories. The first edition was published in 1999 by the Kurdish Library & Heritage Foundation in New York City, USA. This institution was supervised by Ms. Vera Sa’idpour, who unfortunately passed away in 2009. In 2006, the second edition was published by the Ministry of Culture – House of Translation – Slemani, and today, the third edition was completed with the support of Dr. Haval Abubaker, the governor of Slemani.
