The Slemani Institute of Fine Arts is one of the most significant and oldest centers for artistic education in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, founded in 1980. The institute comprises several departments, including Fine Arts, Theater, and Music. Every year, the institute organizes its general festival where graduation projects, paintings, and theatrical performances by students are showcased. Occasionally, it conducts joint projects with international galleries and art centers (such as those in Germany) to develop student skills. Dozens of renowned Kurdish artists in the fields of acting, music, and fine arts have graduated from here, making a significant impact on the Kurdish art scene.
