The Roman Theatre is a strategic cultural and tourism project in Slemani. Construction began in 2012 as part of the “Capital of Culture” initiatives and was completed in 2017. The theater has a seating capacity of 5,000, designed as a symbol for the number of victims of the Halabja tragedy. Its primary goal is to elevate cultural standards and enhance the city’s tourism appeal. It is currently a major venue for international festivals, concerts, sports and religious activities, and university graduation ceremonies; it also serves as a daily tourist landmark where citizens and visitors can enjoy their time and capture memorable photos.
