Tukums UNESCO City of Literature is delighted to announce the first international Writer-in-Residence Programme: “Jaunpils Rakstnieku pils” (Jaunpils Writers’ Castle).
We are inviting writers, poets, playwrights, and screenwriters from the global UNESCO Cities of Literature network to apply for this unique opportunity to live and work in a historic medieval castle.
The Experience
Located in the majestic Jaunpils Castle in the Tukums region of Latvia, this residency offers a peaceful and inspiring environment for literary creation. Selected participants will stay in a private apartment within the castle and have the opportunity to engage with the local cultural and literary life of the region.
