Today, at the Slemani Museum Gallery, Dr. Haval Abubaker, Governor of Slemani, officially inaugurated the solo art exhibition of prominent Kurdish artist Najat Chimani. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Muhsin Adeeb, Director General of Culture and Arts in Slemani, alongside local cultural figures and art enthusiasts.

Titled “My City”,the exhibition marks Chimani’s fifth solo showcase and is supervised by the Fine Arts Department of Slemani. Following the completion of preparations, the gallery opens its doors to the public from September 13 to September 15, welcoming visitors daily between 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM at the Slemani Museum Hall.

About the Artist

Born in Slemani in 1961, Najat Chimani is a renowned Kurdish visual artist whose work has reached international audiences, having previously exhibited across Europe. His artistic style deeply reflects Kurdish identity, drawing inspiration from nature, heritage, folklore, and vibrant cultural landscapes. Through “My City,” Chimani continues his exploration of local traditions and collective memory, capturing the spirit and history of Slemani on canvas.
