Mariwan Hasan – writer, scholar, and instructor at University of Sulaimani – is selected to participate in 2024 Nanjing Residency with five other writers from five different UNESCO Creative Cities of Literature. Writers from Iowa City, Rio de Janeiro, Ljubljana, Angoulême, Durban, and Slemani have been chosen among applications from 20 different countries to participate in this two-week program.

As Slemani UNESCO City of Literature office, we congratulate our prolific writer, Mr. Mariwan Hasan. We hope more writers and translators from our City participate in such programs in the future.
